The client
Prompt Builder is a freemium AI prompt generator for marketers, consultants, founders and researchers. It ships a prompt generator, an optimizer, versioning and a prompt library, with a free tier and paid plans from $9 a month.
Its audience lives inside AI assistants, which makes it one of the clearest cases for search beyond the blue links: the buyer often asks ChatGPT which tool to use before they ever open Google.
The challenge
Prompt tooling is a crowded, fast-moving category. New tools launch weekly, listicles go stale in months, and AI answers tend to recommend whichever brands are described most clearly and most often across the web.
The site needed to be easy for crawlers and language models to read, and to own the comparison and how-to queries that sit closest to a signup.
What we did
A technical audit first: crawlability, indexing, rendering and structured data, so every page Google and AI crawlers fetch is readable and clearly about one thing.
Then a query map built from real prompts and searches, organised around model-specific pages and the model comparison hub, with each page written to answer one question directly so it can be quoted.
Finally, tracking for how often Prompt Builder is named in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini answers for its category, reviewed alongside Google rankings in one weekly view.
